In the hydraulic steel structures sector, KRAEFT Systemtechnik supplies power units and cylinders for ferry terminals, RoRo bridges, bascule bridges, locks and barrages. The company also installs pipework and is your contact for system maintenance and repair. We will be happy to provide you with a quotation for a turnkey solution including assembly and installation on site. The commissioning is recorded in reports which can be supplemented with your own points if desired.
Planning, technical design, installation and commissioning are carried out in accordance with the DIN 19704 Hydraulic Steel Structures standard. We also work in partnership with established certifiers. As well as this, we are happy to coordinate with other trades to plan the various construction phases.

Pipework
In hydraulic steel structures, plant engineering and mechanical engineering, power is usually transmitted hydraulically. This power is transmitted from the power unit to the machine via pipe systems which use compressed fluids. We are able to install all the pipework required in this sector. This includes: the creation of pipework plans, material procurement, bending and assembly with special pre-assembly machines. Flushing the system and cleaning the operating medium. Handover with any requested reports or certifications.
We can produce the pipework using various manufacturing techniques:

Hydraulic cylinders
Hydraulic cylinders are mainly used in hydraulic steel structures to open and close dams, weir systems and locks or move bascule bridges vertically. The cylinders used in these systems are often very long and require custom design solutions, such as the integration of linear position measurement systems, optimal control of large drives, or the integration of valve technology and measurement technology. Our hydraulic cylinder manufacturer, HYDROSAAR International GmbH, a subsidiary of HYDAC, produces cylinders with a diameter of up to 1,000 mm, a length of up to 12,000 mm and a tare weight of up to 20 tonnes. In addition to these dimensions, custom special designs are also possible.
With these hydraulic cylinders, you are always at the cutting edge of technology. Linear position measurement technology that includes both the incremental and absolute values in multiple redundancy is also part of our product range.
KineSys electric cylinders (HEZ)
As they are easy to integrate and need no maintenance, KineSys electric cylinders (HEZ) are ideal for implementing linear movements. In the HEZ, the rotation of the electric motor is converted into a linear movement using a screw drive. The gear and the drive can be selected to produce various positioning forces, travel speeds and duty cycles. Just as with the variable speed drive, various drive designs can be selected, with simple positioning to high-precision positioning.
